Looking for live music in Marrakech? The city has plenty of places to eat and plenty of places to dance, but finding a spot with real live performers, in a comfortable setting, takes a little more searching. At Matrix Lounge, live music is part of every evening, alongside a full restaurant and cocktail bar, from 4 pm to 2 am.
Here are the 4 live acts that make Matrix a great spot for live music in Marrakech, how the music changes through the night, and how to get the best table.
Where to find live music in Marrakech every night
Matrix runs a nightly programme called Matrix Show’s. Every night, it brings together Moira Fireshow, Tamtam, Arnaud Sax, DJ Samoo and Ymood. That means you don’t need to hunt for the “right” night: whenever you come, there is live music in the room.
The venue sits “between fine dining and private club”: you can sit down for dinner, listen to the musicians while you eat, and stay for the DJs later, all at the same table.
The 4 live acts at Matrix Lounge
1. Live saxophone with Arnaud Sax
The saxophone is the sound of dinner at Matrix. Arnaud Sax plays live during the meal, adding a warm, elegant soundtrack to the evening. It is the perfect moment for conversation, with the feeling that the night has already started.
2. Live singing
Live vocals bring a different energy. Singers perform during the evening to lift the mood and get the room involved.
3. Tamtam drums and percussion
When the tamtam drums start, the pace changes. Percussion with Tamtam adds a rhythmic, festive touch that works beautifully with the other performances, including the fire shows by Moira Fireshow in the middle of the room.
4. Resident DJs
As the night goes on, DJ Samoo and Ymood take over with live sets and carry the atmosphere through to closing time at 2 am.
How the music changes through the night
An evening at Matrix has a rhythm:
- Early evening and dinner: live saxophone and a lounge atmosphere, ideal for eating and talking.
- Later in the evening: live singing, tamtam drums and the shows build the energy in the room.
- Until 2 am: the resident DJs keep the party going.
If you only want a quiet drink with music, come earlier. If you want the full show, book for dinner and stay.
Special live music nights
On top of the resident artists, Matrix hosts special nights with guest performers. A good example is the “Moroccan Touch” night with Khadija Atlas, featuring a fire show, tamtam drums, a DJ and live music. Dates are posted on our events page, so check before your visit.
